Our Skin Supplement is a completely herbal blend that may assist with skin and coat problems. Allergic skin disease has many causes, with itchiness being one of the more common clinical signs. Broadly speaking, allergies can be divided into three categories: those caused by;

· Coming into direct skin contact with something,

· Eating the substance, or

· Inhaling the substance

Any route can result in itchiness. Investigating allergies can be difficult. Blood testing for allergies is popular and readily available, but remains contentious and not an exact science. Allergy skin testing is probably more accurate but can be expensive and is not widely available.

Herbal treatments taken internally are becoming more and more popular and seeing good results in many cases with no adverse side effects.

Most often the initial reason for itching and skin problems in a horse is some sort of metabolic stress whether that be climatic or illness or difficulty in breaking down (usually in the liver) some sort of chemical substance showing up in feed or supplements.

Whilst medicated shampoos are used in a number of cases to treat the skin topically these can also cause drying out and flaking of the skin and lead to even more problems. We recommend a natural shampoo and a good hot oil treatment together with feeding our Skin Supplement which may assist in treating these issues from the inside.
