THE TUBBEASE EQUINE HOOF SOCK PROVIDES THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION TO A VARIETY OF COMMON HOOF AILMENTS

Explore the many benefits Tubbease offers you and your equine.

The Tubbease Hoof Sock is a revolutionary solution for a variety of equine hoof problems including laminitis and abscesses. The simple, breathable design can be used for tubbing or soaking, or in conjunction with hoof dressings and poultices.

Tubbease was developed in New Zealand by Cambridge farrier Erin Hampson-Tindale. Erin was trying to solve the problem of poulticing hooves without 'stewing' them, as happened with most regular 'sealed' boots he used. So Erin created this rubber-dipped sock which 'breathes' whilst still protecting and soaking the damaged hoof. This 'breathability' prevents the hoof going soft during the treatment period. A thick EVA sole pad relieves pain for the horse and extends the life of the Tubbease. Various remedies can be used under the sock for ailments such as abscess, thrush, seedy toe, thin sole, injuries, cracks and general deterioration. Tubbease is a Registered Design, No NZ 417646. NB: Tubbease should always be secured with the velcro strap supplied. A bandage is not suitable or adequate.

  • Other sealed poultice and soaking boots can prevent the hoof from breathing which in turn, softens the hoof and inhibits the healing process. Tubbease’ PVC-moulded hoof sock 'breathes' whilst still protecting and soaking the damaged hoof, and can be quickly and easily applied without the need for dressings and tape. Tubbease is also reusable.
  • Tubbease provides the ultimate solution to a variety of common hoof ailments including laminitis, abscess, seedy toe, thrush, thin soles and compromised or damaged hooves. The PVC-moulded sock allows the use of a variety of remedies and can also be used over hoof wraps and dressings for additional protection and cleanliness in wet or muddy conditions.
  • Let’s face it – conventional treatment of hoof ailments can be stressful for both horse and handler. Tubbing, dressing and wrapping can prove difficult, time-consuming and unsustainable. Tubbease offers simple application and consistency of treatment regardless of user experience and ability. The sleek, simple design ensures a snug and comfortable fit for your horse without the need for additional dressing and wrapping.
  • An easily concocted remedy for most hoof infections is two tablespoons of zinc sulphate (available at a chemist or vet) mixed into one litre of water. Epsom salts or diluted Betodine can also be used depending on problem being treated.

Tubbease is the ultimate aid for your equine veterinary kit. Equip your stable today to combat hoof problems before they get the better of you and your horse.

Note: The Tubbease is NOT suitable for working/ridden horses. Designed for confined use - small paddock, stable or yard.

HOW TO MEASURE

Simply measure the longest diameter of the hoof sole (shown in the images). This could be width or length depending on the hoof shape. The hoof measurement must then be fitted within one of the six Tubbease sizes available (dimensions indicate the maximum internal diameter of the Tubbease boot). Remember - Tubbease must always be fitted snug to prevent the hoof sock from falling off.

Tubbease boots are sold individually. Price is for one boot.

Great product and service

Great product. My horse had a cut on the back of his pastern that required bandaging, but he kept wearing through the bandage under his hoof and it kept slipping. This boot ensured the bandage didn’t slip or wear through, and it kept the whole bandage clean. I purchased a larger sized boot than I thought I’d need to allow for the bandage. Fantastic service and quick postage. Thank you!!

Brilliant

Great boot for soaking or keeping a poultice on. Easier and cheaper than cohesive bandages and gaffa! Just use some vet wrap and this boot! Great service too. Thank you Meg.

very dissapointed

extremely difficult to put on. Any horse requiring the use of this boot is likely going to be having a difficult time standing on 3 legs, add in the difficulty of trying to stretch these on and it's a nightmare. they ripped the first week. They are miles too big, but I had to get the biggest size just to get them on! They don't provide support at all, they leak when used for soaking....spend the money on easy cloud boots and don't waste your time or money!

Hi Erin,
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the Tubbease Hoof Boot. We will forward your comments to the manufacturer (Tubbease/Shoof) as Mane Event are just a supplier/distributor of this product. However, please note that putting on this boot is no different than a horse standing on 3 legs when they get their hooves attended to by a farrier, it is easy for them to balance. You need to stretch these over the hoof so that you have a snug fit. If your horse is wearing a Tubbease that is too big for them, then you will experience issues. You do require the proper fit. Kind Regards, Mane Event.

Lifesaver!

My horse had surgery on his back feet and has been wearing bandages for 8 weeks so far. I have been alternating pairs of tubbease boots over the bandages to stop him wearing his hoof through the bottom of the bandaging. I started with the yellow boots for the post op badges as they were bulkier and have used the orange ones since. The fabric part of the boots is not as durable as the rest of the boot, but they still work with a few holes in the sock. The boots mean that bandages stay dry and I don't need to use as much Elastoplast over the foot (cheaper and easier to get bandage on and off). I have used them in a yard and small paddock. My horse accepted them straight away. These boots have saved me time, money and stress. I am not using them for quite the original purpose but they have been so useful.
Thanks to Mane Event for the super quick postage and for organising for me to do a pick up on a weekend. It's nice to deal with a local company.
