Brilliant product, fantastic customer service. Thank you!
extremely difficult to put on. Any horse requiring the use of this boot is likely going to be having a difficult time standing on 3 legs, add in the difficulty of trying to stretch these on and it's a nightmare. they ripped the first week. They are miles too big, but I had to get the biggest size just to get them on! They don't provide support at all, they leak when used for soaking....spend the money on easy cloud boots and don't waste your time or money!
Hi Erin,
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the Tubbease Hoof Boot. We will forward your comments to the manufacturer (Tubbease/Shoof) as Mane Event are just a supplier/distributor of this product. However, please note that putting on this boot is no different than a horse standing on 3 legs when they get their hooves attended to by a farrier, it is easy for them to balance. You need to stretch these over the hoof so that you have a snug fit. If your horse is wearing a Tubbease that is too big for them, then you will experience issues. You do require the proper fit. Kind Regards, Mane Event.
My horse had surgery on his back feet and has been wearing bandages for 8 weeks so far. I have been alternating pairs of tubbease boots over the bandages to stop him wearing his hoof through the bottom of the bandaging. I started with the yellow boots for the post op badges as they were bulkier and have used the orange ones since. The fabric part of the boots is not as durable as the rest of the boot, but they still work with a few holes in the sock. The boots mean that bandages stay dry and I don't need to use as much Elastoplast over the foot (cheaper and easier to get bandage on and off). I have used them in a yard and small paddock. My horse accepted them straight away. These boots have saved me time, money and stress. I am not using them for quite the original purpose but they have been so useful.
Thanks to Mane Event for the super quick postage and for organising for me to do a pick up on a weekend. It's nice to deal with a local company.
I thought you should know I have been really thrilled with the tubbease equine hoof sock for managing my 17.2hh warmblood mare’s hoof abscess. I thought the abscess would be a real drama over Easter, but it has been no fuss at all with the tubbease on. It has kept the poultice and dressing in place, intact and clean for 5 full days now through rain, mud and dry, with the mare contained in a small yard. The mare has been very comfortable in it and it has never looked like coming off. Despite my hard ground, there is barely a mark on it so the plastic base is clearly durable (and reusable). Every horse owner should have one (or two) of these in their horse’s size for the next stone bruise, abscess or as temporary protection after losing a shoe until the farrier can come. I will be telling all my friends about it.
We started with the big yellow one because my farrier applied a huge dressing the first time (in case). I have now moved down to the orange size because the tubbease works so well, we think a single vetwrap will be enough to keep the 2nd poultice in place for the next 4 days.
This was amazing for keeping a large wound of the hoof, that was covered and bandaged to keep dry. We had to keep our horses foot bandaged and covered for two months and trying to keep it dry and clean was hard until we used one of these
