Clivers (also known as Cleavers) are well-known as a detoxification herb for the role it plays in ridding the system of toxins and cleansing the blood.
Clivers are commonly used to support/stimulate the lymphatic system and may help horses with an overload of lymph fluid or helping to reduce swelling in areas throughout the body. May be particularly useful for reducing fluid swellings in horses with conditions such as windgalls and filled legs.
Useful for horses with a ‘sluggish’ elimination system that may be prone to tying-up for an unknown reason. May also be useful to help relieve muscle tightening after exercise.
Rich in Silica, Clivers may relieve some skin disorders and promote healthy hooves. Clivers have traditionally been used to aid in the treatment of some skin complaints such as eczema, greasy heel, rain scald and QLD itch as it cleanses the blood and eliminates unwanted toxins helping the skin cells to replenish and repair.
Clivers may also be used to treat the urinary system and is mildly diuretic.
20-30g per day/500kg horse.
HOW TO ADMINISTER:
Dried herbs may be added directly to your horses dampened feed in their dry state. Alternatively, (recommended) they may be made into an infusion (herbal tea) prior to use and the soaked herbs and liquid poured over feed. By making an infusion prior to feeding, this releases more nutrients from the herbs and may increase the health benefits.
