Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)

 Benefits may include;

  • May support healthy immune system
  • May help support cleansing and purifying blood
  • May help maintain healthy skin
  • May help support detoxification
  • May be considered as a tonic to stimulate the bladder

*Not to be confused with the yellow flowering dandelion that grows in some paddocks. These are two separate plants.

Feed Rate

1-2 tablespoons per day/500kg horse.

Dried herbs may be added directly to your horse’s dampened feed in their dry state. Alternatively, (recommended) they may be made into an infusion (herbal tea) prior to use and the soaked herbs and liquid poured over their feed. By making an infusion prior to feeding, this is known to release more nutrients from the herbs and may increase the health benefits.

This is such a wonderful herb. My horse suffers from bites and itches to the point that he rubs himself raw. I heard about Dandelion and have been using it for about 3 weeks now and I have seen such a change in my horse. He is less itchy, coat is better and he isn't so reactive to insect bites.
