How Does It Work?

  • The main ingredient of Sand Flush is Psyllium Husk
  • Psyllium Husk is derived from the seed of the plant, Plantago Ovata
  • ​Psyllium Husk is a highly soluble fibre which allows it to absorb a large amount of water in the gastrointestinal system
  • As Sand Flush pellets absorb water in the intestines a soft, sticky gel is formed
  • As the Psyllium gel moves through the intestines, it will pick up sand which will then pass out in the manure
  • A lot of horses don't like Psyllium in its pure form. These pellets are highly palatable and even fussy eaters should devour them!

Feeding Recommendations

For best results feed Sand Flush once daily for 5 days every month.

It is important to NOT FEED SAND FLUSH CONTINUOUSLY, as the microbes in the gastrointestinal tract will begin to digest the Psyllium as a source of fibre and it will lose its' effectiveness.

Want to try the Sand Sedimentation test?

  1. Grab a glove
  2. Pick up some manure in the glove
  3. Invert the glove and fill with water
  4. Squeeze the manure to break up the fecal balls
  5. Watch and wait for the sand to sediment in the fingers
  6. Finding more than a teaspoon of sand in the fingers of the gloves means it is likely your horse has a sand burden.

Easy to use

Sand Flush pellets are perfect, it's so easy to add a couple of scoops to feeds and the horses happily eat them.
I agist and need to make feeding as easy as possible for the property owner. I'm much happier knowing I can add Sand Flush for 5 days each month, without worrying about gluggy feeds that don't get eaten.

Sand Flush is such an awesome product. I have been using it for about 5 months now for my 2 ponies. It is so easy to use, just a scoop in their hard feeds for 5 days once a month. They dont even know its there. Perfect!

This stuff is just so easy to feed. My horses love it, no guessing measurements just scoop into feed for five days a month and its done. They can't blow it out and don't sift through it. The sand that came out of one of our ponies was amazing. I'll be feeding this as a regular addition every month . 5 stars!
